Fun (and Learning) with a Newspaper Ball

I have been using an awesome book for early education activities called "Slow and Steady Get Me Ready". My friend Stacy gave it to me. Thanks Stacy!!

This weeks' activity, for my 3 yr old, was called "Hit or Miss". I made a ball out of wadded up newspaper and masking tape. I taped some twine around the ball and then suspended it from a doorway. The boys practiced hitting & kicking the ball. I then told them to use their right hand, or their left foot, to teach/reinforce their understanding of right & left and to also increase coordination on the side they rarely use (my kids are right handed so we worked on their left hand and foot coordination a lot). Then the boys practiced catching the ball. They got a point for catching the ball and got a point deducted if they touched the twine. We also practiced swinging it to one another. Lastly, the boys played with each other. This was by far the best part! They laughed and laughed! Amazing what fun you can foster with a little newspaper, tape and twine!

Ps...
Our house is under construction, so please forgive the messiness.
Also, my boys wanted to wear their pjs today, so yeah, sorry about that too.
Haha.

Pss...
Interested in the book I mentioned? It looks like this
