I have been inspired by all the beautiful ways I have seen others using embroidery hoops as decorations. I am sure you have seen them all over Pinterest. I decided to add a few embroidery hoops to my daughters room but changed them up a bit, to match our style :)
Both of the embroidery hoops have clippings of fabric from my favorite newborn outfits that Ava wore. Every time I look at them I am reminded of her wearing the outfits and how tiny she used to be :) Kids grow WAY TOO FAST!
Here is the first one I'll show you...
The Fabric is from the backside of a pair of corduroy pants that she wore at a month old :)
This is simple to make and looks awesome on the wall in her room!
I love the bright green ribbon with the browns :)
The frame is from a garage sale and only cost $0.25!!!
The second embroidery hoop in Ava's room looks like this...
The striped green & white fabric is from a dress Ava wore at a month old. I loved this simple cheery dress and the stripes look AWESOME framed in that oval embroidery hoop. My friend Debbie found the wooden sign with Ava's name at TJ Maxx (I think) and when she gave it to me I instantly knew what to do with it! I actually inverted the fabric so that the fabric would be a backing to her name. I used a razor blade to cut the fabric off the edge that faced me. I then used wood glue to glue the sign onto the inside ledge of the embroidery hoop.
Here is a close up of what I just tried to explain, haha...
I love taking a craft idea and making it uniquely "me".
Have you decorated with embroidery hoops?
If so, post a link to your blog post! I'd love to see what you came up with! :)

These are so cute!
ReplyDeleteThese are darling Janiene!! I have pinned a bunch of hoop art for inspiration of doing some in Lila's room but I haven't done anything yet besides buy the hoops. Hahaha! I am in LOVE with the idea of using fabric from Ava's outfits! I am totally going to copy that idea!!
