A new journal...

I have been trying to clean out all the boxes in my garage to make room for my hubby's car. Amazing how many boxes one can accumulate in 9 years! Many of the boxes followed us through half a dozen moves and were never even unpacked!!! Fail!

Yesterday, I opened 6 boxes and found things that I have not seen in 8 years! Amongst the time capsule boxes were old pictures, journals, and letters Chad wrote me while we were dating. So precious are these treasures! They are now in a safe place INSIDE my home :)

I also found a journal that a friend  gave me that I never started. It gives you a daily verse & it encourages you to meditate on that verse and then journal about it at the end of the day. I couldn't contain my excitement - I needed a new journal, and what better way to journal than to let everything in your day flow through a verse from God's Word! It's a 2fer! 

Here was yesterday's verse and my thoughts in the parenthesis...

I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. Proverbs 4:11

God, you are guiding me 

(I am not alone on this journey, you are guiding me)

in the way 

(so you have a direction you are leading me and there is a destination I am heading towards)

of wisdom 

(there is wisdom, and it's available to me, and answers can be found in you) 

and lead

(ok, you already said you are guiding me, now you tell me you lead me...so I just need to follow you...thank you!!)

along straight paths

(the way of the Lord is straight, though difficult and opposing to the winding road, the path has a fixed end destination, as all paths do. The end is God. Lead me, guide me, I need your wisdom along this path).
