Today we had fun with watercolors and salt!
Once the paint dried,
I brushed away the salt and this was the outcome...
The paint dried too quickly since it is SO HOT today! I am always a sucker for artwork made by my kiddos - no matter how it turns out! We will definitely be trying this again, when the weather is cooler! It will probably look amazing with the whole piece mottled, and not just the spots that were still wet when we finally applied the salt, haha :)

You have some incredibly artists in your house. Those are truly masterpieces. I, too, am a sucker for kid's artwork...and these are no exception.
ReplyDeleteOooh beautiful artwork! We LOVE using this technique! Have you tried using liquid watercolors before? I feel like it works better with this technique because the kids don't have to spend their time adding water to every color.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Janiene! Those kids are growing so fast! I made an iced coffee at home today and thought of you! Hope you're having a great week!

This looks like such a fun activity. We have been exploring painting all week. This would be a fun activity to throw in. I am coming from the CHQ blog hop and I'm your newest follower!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Make sure you keep these because they'll mean so much when he's older. This weekend my mother in law was wearing an apron that my husband had made when he was a little boy- it had drawings all over it and said "Love, greg." It means a lot now, not only to her, but me too. So sweet! Just found your blog and I've loved looking around and getting to know you better. I'm excited to follow along!
