$2 Star-shaped Cake Stands

I am loving the Dollar Store!
I am prepping everything for my son's 3rd birthday this Sunday.
The theme of my son's party is "Outer Space".
I ran to the Dollar Store last night and saw some FUN star platters.
I decided I just had to get them and make them into cake (pops) stands!!!
So, I bought 2 candle stick bases & 2 star platters.

I spray painted the candle stick bases white
(I had some extra white spray paint laying around)...

My husband is adorable (and so awesome and handy) and wanted them to be perfectly centered so he volunteered to glue the platter to the candle stick. He used clear silicon glue...

See, here he is centering them, hehehe...

We grabbed the nearest heavy stuff to weigh it down so the glue would grab and hold better. This is what I could find closest to me (evidence that I have lots of kiddos!). I let the glue dry for a few hours...

Ta-da!!!!!!

The under side...

I am LOVING this easy-peasy project!
$2 for each cake stand...$4 bucks total!
PLUS, I can re-use this for our 4th of July BBQ!
Hooray!!!!

Check back in with me on Monday to see the rest of the
Outer Space party details and to see these platters in use!

Blessings,
Janiene

ps...
